Bring point | Waste collection points in the neighbourhood or district, not directly linked to a house or several households. They are commonly in a distance, further than in a door-to-door system For the collection of food waste or organic waste, they are usually within walking distance, for garden they can be in a longer distance. Either with free access all day long or with fixed opening hours. |
Door to door | The collecting entity provides bins to all households in its catchment. The bins or bags are directly connected to one or several households. Their storage place is commonly located very close to the connected households. Waste is collected with a specific frequency. If the collection is on demand but gratis and on specific dates, it is considered to be door-to-door. |
No separate collection | Applied if a specific stream is not collected separately. In most cases, this refers to food waste or biowaste collection. |
On demand kerbside collection | Collection that is without specific frequency and can be ordered by each individual household on demand for an additional cost. If the collection is on demand but gratis and on specific dates, it is considered to be door-to-door. |
Recycling centre | A center that is open all year but with fixed opening hours. Usually accepts many different types of waste. For biowaste, this can be also include composting or other treatment sites. |
